*"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17 KJV)."*


*WHAT IS FAITH?*

1. Faith is the substance of things hope for; the evidence of things not seen. 


*WHAT ARE THE FOUNDATIONS OF FAITH?*

Faith is founded on the following:

(A) The Word of God. *(Romans 10:17).*

(B) Spiritual Realities.

(C) Works. *(James 2:20-26).*


*(A) THE WORD OF GOD*

1. This is the most important foundation of faith. 


2. We develop faith by reading the Word of God and meditating on it to gain understanding. 


3. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. *(Romans 10:17)*. How do we hear God's Word? Well, whenever we get a revelation from the Word of God, we hear God and faith comes. Whenever the Holy Spirit speaks to us, we hear God and faith comes. Whenever a man of God or any other believer preaches or teaches the Word of God, we hear God and faith comes. Whenever a believer shares a testimony to glorify God, we hear God and faith comes. 


4. Abraham didn't speak Isaac into existence, God did! Abraham simply believed God, acted on God's promise, and as a result, Isaac was born. *(Romans 4:19-21)*.


5. *Your faith must be in God, not in your faith!*


6. *Whatever you claim by faith must be based on what God has clearly promised you in His Word.*


7. *Faith is not blindness. It's seeing God's Word and believing that it will become a reality. (Hebrews 11:3, 27).*


*(B) SPIRITUAL REALITIES (Genesis 1:1-31; 2:1-3)*

*What is Reality?*

1. Reality is what actually happens or is true, not what is imagined or thought.


2. Reality is the fact that something exists or is happening. 


*What is Fantasy?*

1. Fantasy is an exciting and unusual experience or situation you IMAGINE happening to you.


2. Fantasy is an idea or belief that is based only on imagination, and not facts.


*What are Spiritual Realities?*

Spiritual Realities are things that are real and true, things that actually happen in the realm of the spirit. During creation, God first of all created spiritual realities (the heaven and its composition) before He created physical realities (the earth and its composition). *You CAN'T call forth anything into this physical realm if they do not exist in the realm of the Spirit. You CAN'T have faith for things that are not spiritual realities (that's not faith, it's hope).* 


Jesus is real, that's why we have faith in Him. Divine healing and divine health exist in the realm of the Spirit, that's why we can have faith for divine healing and divine health. *(Revelation 22:2)*. They are many other spiritual realities. We need to know them if we want our faith to produce results. 


The faith of many believers is  based on fantasies, not realities, and that's why their lives are not producing tangible results. *When you keep believing God for things that are not real in the spirit realm, you will be disappointed. When you also believe God for realities that are not designed for you, you'll be in for a shock.* For example, a spiritual reality is that angels can fly. If you as a man, by faith, attempts to do it, you will end up committing suicide. *(Matthew 4:5-7)*. Jumping from a cliff in a bid to fly, Jesus puts it in Matthew 4:7, is tempting God, not exhibiting faith. 


*Faith is founded on spiritual realities that God has made available to us. "Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10).* This is how Jesus taught us to pray.


*Faith brings the operations in heaven to earth. It transports the activities in heaven to earth. Faith gives us access to God, and gives God access to us. Faith takes us from where we are to where God is, and takes God from where He is to where we are. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places, yet God the Spirit lives inside of us here on earth. The power of faith!*

POSSESSING YOUR POSSESSIONS
